New Upper School Director Named For Crossroads School For Arts & Sciences:

Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences has appointed Roxanne Zazzaro as its next Upper School Director effective July, 2012.

For the past seven years, Zazzaro has been the Upper School Head at Brooklyn Friends School (BFS), a pre-K through 12th grade independent Quaker School in New York. She began her career at BFS as the Head of Guidance and Learning Specialist in 1994, and became Upper School Dean of Students in 2001, before becoming Upper School Head in 2005.

Zazzaro holds a B.A. in English and Journalism from Virginia Intermont College, and received an M.S. in Special Education at Southern Connecticut State University. She also received a certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from the University of New England. She began her career as a journalist, and upon moving into education spent two years teaching reading and study skills in private and parochial schools around the world, including in Kuwait, Chile and Columbia. In reflecting on her new career at Crossroads, Zazzaro shared that “From the first moment I stepped onto the Crossroads campus, I felt the warmth of a community, the excitement for learning and the respect and appreciation for each member of the community. I look forward to joining and embracing the remarkable, creative learning community of Crossroads School.”
