Poundstone, Collins Star at McKinley Benefit:

Two of stand-up comedy’s biggest names will perform at the annual benefit for one of Santa Monica’s smallest schools, McKinley Elementary School, on Tuesday, April 12, at Shutters on the Beach Hotel in Santa Monica.

Paula Poundstone, who has three children, and Bobby Collins, father of two children, are both McKinley parents and they will appear at 7 p.m. on the Shutters stage.

Coming to prominence in the comedy-conspicuous 1980s, Poundstone’s candid, conversational style and smart, idiosyncratic views of the world have made her one of America’s most original and truly funny comics.

The New York Times has called Bobby Collins “the most natural comedian working today.”

All proceeds from this event will benefit McKinley School’s visual and performing arts programs, which include guest artists, musical theater and talent shows, and arts assemblies.Tickets for the benefit are $40 and are on sale at (310) 828-5011. The admission price includes a VIP after-party with food and drink, courtesy of Shutters and music by McBand. The event is open to the public.
