SMC Music Department To Present Two Concerts In September:

Jazz pianist and composer Steve Lockwood will perform in the SMC Performing Arts Center on Sept. 14.

The Santa Monica College Music Department will present two concerts in September, both of them in the Edye Second Space in the SMC Performing Arts Center.

The concerts are:

• Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 and 9 p.m.:

Fall Jazz Concerts: Steve Lockwood. Jazz pianist and composer Steve Lockwood leads a stellar band through an eclectic set of contemporary music. Tickets are $10.

• Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 11:15 a.m.:

Joan Mills: Piano Concert. Mills returns to SMC to play the music of Mozart, Chopin, and Ginastera. A music professor emeritus and former department chair, she built SMC’s piano program. Free tickets are available at the SMC Music Office in Room 211 of the Performing Arts Center.

SMC Performing Arts Center is located at Santa Monica Boulevard at 11th Street.
