Fashion’s Night Out returns to Santa Monica this tonight, Sept. 6 with the plenty of fun events at Santa Monica Place and along Main Street.
Launched by Vogue in 2008, last year’s bash was held in 18 countries with more than 4,500 events in the US alone, uniting fashion lovers as they flooded stores in cities across the country and around the world for fashion’s most iconic extravaganza.
The event is an initiative to encourage people to go out and enjoy fashion again in a time that seemed otherwise less than celebratory.
Main Street
Now in its second year on Main Street, the festivities have grown to more than 35 participating businesses from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. across genre lines to include fashion boutiques, salons, restaurants, bars and purveyors of home furniture.
Though each of these categories is seemingly different, they all have one goal in mind: To show Santa Monica what Main Street’s hottest and hippest have to offer.
Guests are encouraged to strut their stuff while being photographed by “paparazzi” before hitting the celebrations up and down the street from Pier Ave. to Bay St.
With their second foray into the international event, Main Street is out to prove to revelers that “Main is the new black.”
When your feet have grown weary from all the fun, be sure to head to Brick + Mortar at 2435 Main for the after party featuring a DJ and FNO signature drink, “The Milan”. The street will be packed with parties, contests and giveaways, but most importantly – style.

Santa Monica Place
The celebration at Santa Monica Place will feature an evening of fashion, exclusive retailer events, and promotions.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., visit one of two beauty lounges, located in front of Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s, for one-on-one beauty consultations, samples, sparkling beverages, and exclusive offers from each store. And be sure to stop by The Plaza for a quick glam session in our fashion photo booth, and for on-site fashion illustrations.
Take your seat or find a great place to watch the show before 7 p.m. because Stefano is performing live. This Season 10 Finalist on “American Idol” will bring the plaza to life as he rocks his debut single “I’m On A Roll.” Plus, Fashion’s Night Out visitors will have a special opportunity to meet Stefano in person following the fashion show.
Los Angeles Magazine fashion editor Linda Immediato will host the Fashion Show featuring the latest in fall fashion from Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Ted Baker, Lorna Jane, Kitson, White House Black Market, Johnny Was, 7 for all Mankind, Hugo Boss, True Religion Brand Jeans, Eva Varro, and Kenneth Cole. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
