Brentwood Art Center Reopens With Classes Resuming Today:

The Brentwood Art Center (BAC) at 26th and Montana has reopened with classes resuming today, October 1.

“For decades, The Brentwood Art Center has provided talented instruction for so many artists — from children learning their first strokes of painting to seasoned artists further honing their talents,” said Lloyd Bookman, incoming Chairman of the Board of Friends of the Brentwood Art Center, the new nonprofit owner. “We could not let this community treasure die.”

The restructuring of the BAC as a non-profit organization opens the doors for greater opportunities for support and growth, said Bookman.

“The Center will continue to provide a nurturing atmosphere of encouragement and talented instruction for artists of all levels and ages,” said Don Burris, incoming Vice-Chair of Outreach. “We will be hitting the ground running with a full schedule of classes, and look to expand our programs out into the community.

“We could not have accomplished this reopening so quickly without the support of so many people from the local community and from the BAC’s dedicated faculty,” said Bookman. “The outpouring of support is a testament to the value the community places on this very special institution and the thirst we all have for artistic outlets.”

For more information on current and upcoming class offerings, call The Center at 310.451.5657.
