Woman Struck By Car Near Santa Monica Place; Rushed To Trauma Center:

[Update: Colorado between Main and 4th St. reopened to traffic at 3 p.m.]

A woman has been rushed to a local trauma center with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday on the 300 block of Colorado Avenue near Santa Monica Place.

Santa Monica Police Department Sgt. Richard Lewis said eastbound Colorado is expected to be closed for up to three hours between Main and 4th Street while detectives investigate.

Lewis said it was too early to know if the pedestrian was crossing the street legally or not.

He said the driver was on the scene cooperating with detectives.

He said he did not know the woman’s condition other than she sustained serious injuries.
