Santa Monica Police Arrest Enraged Girlfriend After Assault On Boyfriend: Alert Police Blotter: Step Away From The Phone!

A 28-year-old Santa Monica woman was arrested Thursday, Feb. 10 after a fight with her boyfriend escalated and she physically assaulted him.

At 1:36 a.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the couple’s residence in the 1700 block of Franklin Street in response to a report of a domestic violence incident.

The victim, in this case the boyfriend of the suspect, had reported that his girlfriend had just assaulted him and was attempting to leave the premises.

When the officers arrived they saw the suspect exiting the residence and detained her without incident.

The officers then spoke with the boyfriend who told them what had happened.

He said he had been dating this girl for several months and on this day they had become involved in an argument with each other.

During the course of this argument the girlfriend had become very angry, and she had subsequently expressed this anger by executing a rage-induced attack upon the boyfriend in the form of a number physical strikes to his person.

The boyfriend had then attempted to summon the assistance of the police, but the girlfriend had tried to prohibit him from completing this by grabbing his phone.

The boyfriend eventually regained possession of his phone, and successfully called the police.

The boyfriend was not injured, but the girlfriend was arrested and taken to jail, whereupon she was presented with charges of preventing a victim from summoning aid, and domestic battery.

The bail for this Santa Monica woman was set at $20,000.
