The Children’s After School Theater 5th-12th graders star in an original tale with popular musical favorites in a C.A.S.T. Revue. KCAST- The Radio Station performances are today at 7 pm and Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, at 12:30 pm in Simkins Hall at First United Methodist Church, 1008 11th St. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors/children.

The Friends of Santa Monica Public Library will hold its semi-annual Book Sale from 11 am to 2 pm, in the Friends Bookstore at 601 Santa Monica Blvd. More than 800 books priced from $5 to $100 will be available. Selection includes tabletop art books, architectural history books, first editions, autographed copies, children’s books, cookbooks, biographies, references, current best sellers, even audiobooks. Monies raised by the Friends will benefit library programs. Cash and checks will be accepted. The Friends Bookstore is open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 am to 4:30 pm and Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

Santa Monica Public Library presents a screening of “Ball Talk: Baseball’s Voices of Summer,” followed by a Q&A with director Kevin Bender at 3 pm in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. The documentary chronicles the golden era of baseball, through the stories of veteran game announcers like Mel Allen, Red Barber, Ernie Harwell, Jack Brickhouse, Jack Buck, and Curt Gowdy. YWCA Santa Monica/Westside presents its “Let’s Get Physical Marathon and Fundraiser” from 9:30 am to 3 pm. Have fun getting physical with an array of classes from Tai Chi to Zumba that you can take while raising money for YWCA programs that benefit girls, women, and families. The Museum of Flying hosts “Fresh Canvas Party 2013” from 7-10 pm. Santa Monica Classic 5K/10K will be held from 6:30 am to 11 am. The Santa Monica Classic features a spectacular point-to-point course along the streets of Santa Monica with the finish line just steps away from the famous Santa Monica Pier.
