Overnight PCH Checkpoint Nets One Drunk Driver, Passenger With Open Container:

A motorist was arrested and booked for a DUI warrant and a passenger was cited for having an open container during an overnight driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in Malibu, a police sergeant said today.

Also, 10 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court during the checkpoint at Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way that began at 7 p.m. Friday and ended today at 3 a.m., said Sgt. Daniel A. Dail of the sheriff’s Traffic Services Detail.

Dail said three motorists driving with suspended licenses were also arrested and sent to court, three vehicles were impounded for 30 days and one vehicle was stored for one day during the checkpoint.

The sheriff’s sergeant also said 1,364 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
