4.2 Magnitude Earthquake In Inland Empire Felt As Far As Malibu:

A predawn 4.2 magnitude earthquake rattled the Inland Empire awake today, and was felt from Malibu to Borrego Springs.

The earthquake was at 5:54 a.m. and was epicenter was in Fontana, about 9 miles northwest of Riverside, or 55 miles east of the Los Angeles Civic Center.

It was too small to cause damage. And was followed by three small aftershocks.
