Fire at 529 22nd Street Santa Monica Sunday:

Sunday, at approximately 5:20 PM, the Santa Monica Fire Department began receiving calls of a fire in the 500 block of 22nd Street. Upon arrival Santa Monica Fire Units found a 2 story single family residence, at 529 22nd Street,  with one room well involved with fire. 

4 Fire Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, a Hazardous Materials Unit, and a Chief Officer Supervisor all responded to the incident. 

Quick work by Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 10 minutes. No injuries were reported to civilians or Firefighters, but the fire did result in the residents of the home being displaced. 

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.  This incident took place during a period of high incident activity, coinciding with the first day of Expo line ridership.
