A 68-year-old Encino man was killed when the vehicle he was driving went off the road and down a steep hill in Malibu, authorities said Wednesday.

The crash of the 2013 Toyota was reported at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Malibu Canyon Road, south of Piuma Road, according to the California Highway patrol.

The man was traveling on Malibu Canyon road when, for an unknown reason, he made an unsafe turning movement and the Toyota left the road and went down the hill, the CHP said.
