What’s Hot:

Cubensis, December 31, doors open 8pm

This New Year’s Eve, come and get beautiful with amigos both old and new while twirling to one of the top Grateful Dead tribute bands around. For nearly two decades, these Angelinos have shone their love light in honor of Jerry, Phil and the rest of the boys. Veterans of North of 2000 shows, Cubensis’ reputation for working audiences into a psychedelic frenzy of jubilation should not be taken lightly.

Dig up that old tie-dye and collar that tattered hacky sack, there’s some dancin’ to be done! Who’s ready to boogaloo?

The Toledo Show New Year’s Eve Party, Harvelle’s, December 31, 9:30pm

The Toledo Show is a hypnotic pastiche of funk, R&B and hip-hop which seduces first and asks for names later. It’s a soulful journey, which is perhaps one part visual and two parts musical. Most of all, it’s a very entertaining show led by the uniquely talented Toledo, whose stylings have been compared to Sly Stone, Barry White, Marvin Gaye and Tom Waits. Along with his sexy “Dames” and crack band, expect Toledo and company to escort things to a fever pitch for a New Year’s you’re not likely to forget anytime soon.
