Santa Monica police are searching for a driver wanted in connection to a fatal Pico Boulevard hit-and-run.
According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), on November 13, 2021, around 8:04 p.m. officers responded to 10th Street and Pico Boulevard for a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
“Upon their arrival, they found the pedestrian, a 58- year-old male, suffering from massive trauma,” the SMPD said.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
“Investigation revealed that the pedestrian was struck by a white Ford Mustang. While lying in the roadway, the victim was struck by a second vehicle, the owner of which remained on scene,” the SMPD said.
A several month investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle is a white Ford Mustang. A SMPD analysis of the body style suggests the vehicle’s model year is around 2015.
The vehicle’s path of travel was tracked on security cameras in the area. It is believed the suspect vehicle sustained a broken front windshield and damage to the front driver’s side. Investigators also believe the driver of the vehicle might have lived in or at least frequented the area of the collision,” the SMPD said.
