In a non-league match-up of Westside baseball teams, New Roads defeated Crossroads last week, 5-3.
Earlier, Crossroads had defeated Lennox Academy, 8-3.
St. Monica began the season by losing to Malibu, 3-2, but came back to shut out Monroe High, 7-0, and Morningside, 6-0. Brentwood was a 14-2 winner over Salesian in its opening game and then cruised past Buckley, 13-1.
