A Message From The SMFD:

The Santa Monica Fire Department would like remind drinking and dining establishments to be responsible regarding overcrowding during the high profile holiday of St. Patrick’s Day on March 17.

A few reminders:

* An establishment’s occupancy load is limited to the posted occupancy load sign issued by the Santa Monica Fire Department.

* Maintain egress paths.

* Keep exits doors unobstructed.

* Monitor your occupancy load. The best way to do this is to have two door monitors with hand-held counters. One is responsible for counting guests entering, and one responsible for guest exiting. Remember this is required as part of the Santa Monica Fire Department occupancy regulations.

* Please have a safe and happy holiday.

If you have questions, please contact the Santa Monica Fire Department Fire Prevention Office, 310.458.8915.
