This San Francisco-based blue-collar act has been making inspired music since its mid-’70s inception. A combination of modern electric, Chicago and harmonica blues, Little Charlie and his cohorts create a blend of passionate, rollicking, gritty blues that hits its mark with great consistency. With a good-time swagger, inspired lyrics and a love for showmanship, they have entertained fans on the blues circuit for decades and show no signs of slowing down.

Fairport Convention, May 13, 7pm

Thought of by many as the preeminent British folk band of the ’60s, Fairport Convention played their first gig in a church hall back in May of 1967. The group’s early objective was to mesh harmony and guitar-based folk-rock a la the California bands of the day. Some excellent examples of their work include albums such as What We Did on Our Holidays, Liege & Lief and It All Comes Round Again. While their lineups have varied over the years, “Convention” has continued to carry its beacon in the name of electrified British folk.
