Green Gems of Santa Monica Walking Tour

June 28 and June 30

The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee is sponsoring this two-day walking tour of the environmentally friendly buildings and attractions of Santa Monica. Part one, on Thursday evening, June 28, visits the Santa Monica Library, Santa Monica’s Urban Runoff Recycling Facility and the solar-powered Ferris wheel at Santa Monica Pier, ending at the Twilight Dance Series. Saturday’s excursion will take visitors to the Pico Kenter Storm Drain Sand Fill Project, the Green Business Resource Center and the Saturday Farmers’ Market on Arizona (can’t get much greener that that!). Thursday tour begins at the Chamber office, 1234 6th St., 5:30-7:30pm/Saturday’s tour begins at the Pier in front of the Carousel, 10am-noon. Free, but reservations required, 310.393.9825.
