Former Samohi Star Leads West LA Win:

Milan DePillars, a star outfielder at Santa Monica High two years ago, redshirted at Cal State Dominguez last season and is now a key player at West Los Angeles College.

DePillars has established himself as the Oilers’ centerfielder. He has the speed to run down deep drives in a ballpark with spacious dimensions.

And Saturday, February 16 DePillars had four hits and scored the winning run in a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Saddleback College at West LA.

DePillars had a triple, double, two singles, and a walk as West LA overcame a 4-0 deficit with four runs in the seventh inning and one in the ninth.

The win evened West LA’s record at 5-5. On Thursday, February 14 the team traveled to Porterville and earned a 12-8 victory. In that game Stuart Boardman, a righthanded pitcher from Samohi, pitched effectively in relief.
