The performances will take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, continuing the Philharmonic’s 2025–26 season.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic will present a major series of performances from May 19 through May 31, marking the return of Gustavo Dudamel to the podium with an ambitious staging of Die Walküre and a highly anticipated cello concerto premiere featuring Yo-Yo Ma.
The performances will take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, continuing the Philharmonic’s 2025–26 season with a production shaped by the late architect Frank Gehry.
Dudamel will conduct all three acts of Die Walküre, part of Wagner’s epic Ring Cycle. Act I will be performed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, and Friday, May 22. Act II will follow at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, and Saturday, May 23. Act III is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 24.
The production features a creative team including director Alberto Arvelo, costume designer Cindy Figueroa, dramaturg Cori Ellison, and scenic concepts by Gehry. Principal cast members include Jessica Faselt as Sieglinde, Jamez McCorkle as Siegmund, Soloman Howard as Hunding, Ryan Speedo Green as Wotan, and Christine Goerke as Brünnhilde.
Described as an “ecstatic love story,” Die Walküre continues the mythic narrative of Wagner’s Ring, exploring themes of love, power and destiny.
