Authorities take alleged stalker Michelle Dick into custody in another state.
Authorities arrested a 55-year-old woman in Indiana on Saturday in connection with the stalking and alleged chemical assault of former Fleetwood Mac guitarist and Brentwood resident Lindsey Buckingham.
Michelle Marie Dick was taken into custody without incident by Fort Wayne police and remains held at the Allen County Jail. She now awaits extradition to California to face six felony charges and one misdemeanor, including counts of stalking, battery, assault, and making criminal threats.
The charges follow a March 25 incident in Santa Monica, where investigators say Dick doused the 76-year-old musician with an unknown substance outside an appointment. Buckingham reportedly recognized the woman from prior altercations and holds a restraining order that legally requires her to stay at least 100 yards away from him at all times.
While the specific nature of the substance thrown during the encounter has not been disclosed, Dick fled the scene immediately following the confrontation. Santa Monica police collaborated with Indiana officials to track her location, leading to her booking on April 11.
Buckingham, a legendary figure in rock history known for his decades of work with Fleetwood Mac and a prolific solo career, has not commented publicly on the arrest. Extradition proceedings to return Dick to Los Angeles County are expected to move forward this week.
