After winning four non-league games, St. Monica began its Del Rey League schedule with a 4-3 loss to Bishop Montgomery High in Torrance.
All of Bishop Montgomery’s runs came in the fifth inning.
Palisades High came out of an early season hitting slump to edge Taft, 13-12, and then defeat North Hollywood, 11-3. Julian Barzilli hit a home run in both games.New Roads began its season with a 6-3 win over Eastside Christian of Fullerton, then defeated Oakwood, 5-3, and lost to Malibu, 12-4.
