Members of Treesavers and community supporters held a “Save the Trees” Earth Day March and Rally on Tuesday, April 22, walking along Second and Fourth Streets to draw attention to their struggle to save the threatened ficus trees, and ending at City Hall where participants presented a 100-yard-long “Save the Trees Message Scroll” to the Council. Treesavers are again asking the City Council to reconsider the tree removal aspect of their $8.2 million street improvement plan.
