“I’ve Got 7” Campaign Launched:

A month-long campaign to encourage residents to maintain a supply of food, water, and emergency equipment to see them through seven days in the event of a disaster was launched on Monday, September 8, by the American Red Cross of Santa Monica and the City of Santa Monica, who advise Santa Monicans to “be prepared” for emergencies and major disasters.

Speaking at Fire Station No. 1 that morning were Santa Monica Fire Department Chief Jim Hone, Santa Monica Police Chief Tim Jackman and other city officials. John Pacheco, Executive Director of the Santa Monica Red Cross, Paul Weinberg, City of Santa Monica Emergency Services Coordinator, Marolyn Freedman from the Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District, and Laurel Rosen, President/ CEO of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, also made brief comments.
