Pacific Coast Highway To Be Closed For 3-4 Weeks:

Caltrans says last week’s heavy rains caused 12 to 15 mud

Rock- and mudslides along of Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County will keep the coastal route closed for three or four weeks, authorities said today.

The closed section, between Yerba Buena and Las Posas roads, is covered in 4-6 feet of mud that slumped onto the road two weeks ago.

The affected section is near the May 2013 Springs Fire burn area.

Caltrans hired a contractor to remove the mud and debris, reposition K-rails moved by mudslides and repair highway shoulders that were damaged or washed out.
