Bail Not Granted To Man Who Stole Audio Speakers From Santa Monica Sears:

Bail was not granted to a 31-year-old Los Angeles man on Thursday, June 27 after he was caught stealing audio speakers from the Sears department store in Santa Monica.

At 8:35 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the store at 302 Colorado Avenue in order to investigate a report of a theft.

They were informed by radio that the suspect was in the custody of staff at the store.

Upon arrival they conferred with the loss prevention agent for the store, who told them what had happened.

Apparently the suspect had entered the store and had been seen to walk around and then put two small audio speakers in his pants pockets, he then picked up a DVD player, removed the security tags, and placed it in rear waistband of his pants.

The man then walked out of the store without making any attempt to pay for these items.

At that time the loss prevention agents had apprehended this man and detained him.

The loss prevention agents then discovered that as well as the merchandise from Sears, this man also possessed two more small audio speakers from Brookstone.

He did not have a receipt for these items, but it was determined that he had visited that store earlier in the day.

The officers arrested this man and he was charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, as well as a parole hold.

Bail was not granted.
