Santa Monica Lions Club Presents The 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Day

The members of the Santa Monica Lions Club are excited to invite you to the 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Day Celebration on Saturday May 6th from 1:00 to 4:00PM.

This colorful event will be held once again in the spectacular St. Monica’s Grand Pavilion. Many attendees will be sporting their creative, fashionable and often eccentric Kentucky Derby hats.

Once again, there will be “betting” on the horses. The event culminates in a Live Feed of the Kentucky Derby. Among the top equine contenders this year are Girvin, Classic Empire, Gormley, Irap (who just won the Santa Anita Derby on April 8th ), Irish War Cry, Thunder Snow and Always Dreaming.

Once again the event will host the Hottest Hat Contest. Mint Juleps will be flowing, along with ice tea, wine and soft drinks, accompanied by delicious hors d’oeuvres. Patrons can bid on creative gift baskets and other great items in the Silent and Live Auctions. Parking at St. Monica’s is Free.

Tickets are $50.00 each, $60.00 at the door and may be purchased at SMLionsKentuckyDerby2017.eventbrite.com, or contact event chairs Anna Vastano (310)451-2288 or Cathy Gill (310) 567-0312. Proceeds from this event shall support the Santa Monica Lions Club Benevolent Fund.
