The Venice Family Clinic, the nation’s largest free clinic, is opening the nation’s first health, wellness and integrative medicine treatment center offered at a free clinic on March 29.Made possible by a $3 million gift from the Simms/Mann Family Foundation, the Center will focus on obesity prevention and management for ages two through adult, chronic pain management, nutrition counseling, diabetes care and stress management. The Center’s staff will include integrative medicine physicians, acupuncture, chiropractic and osteopathic clinicians as well as social workers and a health and wellness coordinator. In attendance at the dedication will be Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Councilman Bill Rosendahl, Dr. Gerald Levey, Dean, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Santa Monica Mayor Robert Holbrook.
