SMC Honors 16 Athletes of Year:

Santa Monica College honored a Student-Athlete Of The Year in each of 16 sports last week at an awards breakfast. The event is an annual custom. The winners: Womens’ basketball: Kristine Jensen; Mens’ basketball: Efrem Lawrence; Womens’ track: Lisha Burch: Mens’ track: Chinedozi Foster. Womens’ swimming: Desine Tran; Mens’ swimming: James Parrish; Womens’ volleyball: Claudia Jacobs; Mens’ volleyball: Brian Schirripa. Football: Charles Searcy; Womens’ soccer: Liz Angermeier; Womens’ cross country: Maria Bautista; Mens’ cross country: Mo Elmi. Softball: Amanda Salvestrini; Womens’ tennis: Masami Hashimoto; Womens’ water polo: Sally Sachs; Mens’ water polo: Jake Sands. Also honored was Alexis Lanman, Cheer Squad.
