Softball

Santa Monica High won its first six Ocean League games — several by lopsided scores. Most recently, it shut out Inglewood 26-0, and followed it with a 10-3 win over Notre Dame Academy in the El Segundo Tournament and two league wins over Beverly Hills, 7-1 and 10-0. With a seven-game winning streak Samohi is 12-7 overall.

St. Monica lost to Bishop Montgomery, 7-3.

Baseball

St. Monica won a non-league game from Serra, 9-4.

Brentwood fell behind early, couldn’t recover, and took an 8-5 Olympic League loss to Montclair Prep, which scored the first seven runs of the game.

Malibu routed Santa Clara, 14-2 in Frontier League play as Brooks Fitch struck out 12 batters. Previously, Malibu lost to Harvard-Westlake, 1-0. Aaron Westline pitched well but gave up the game’s only run in the third. Malibu is 7-1 in the league and 11-6 overall.

Crossroads split two games with Kilpatrick, a 7-2 loss and 10-9 win to become 2-1 in the Delphic League.New Roads defeated Discovery Prep of Pacoima, 24-6, and is 1-1 in the Harbor League.
