Spring Sports Roundup:

Baseball

St. Monica won three consecutive games and clinched a playoff berth. 9-4 and 6-4 non-league wins over Serra were followed by a 4-3 win in eight innings over Bosco Tech. Another game against Bosco Tech wasn’t played due to wet grounds. St. Monica is in third place in the Del Rey League behind St. Paul and Bishop Montgomery but ahead of Bosco Tech and St. Bernard.

The Mariners were scheduled to complete the regular season with three games this week, at St. Bernard Tuesday, at Bosco Tech Wednesday and home (Marine Park) against St. Bernard Thursday.

New Roads defeated Rolling Hills Prep, 6-5, improving its record to 4-1 in league and 12-7 overall.

Softball

St. Monica lost to St. Paul, 3-0 and has an overall record of 10-10…

Crossroads lost to Calvary Chapel, 5-3.

New Roads defeated Highland Hall and Community Harvest Charter, both by a 15-0 score, improving its record to 3-0 in the Harbor League and 7-5 overall.

Boys VolleyballSt.  Monica lost to Viewpoint of Calabasas, 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 in a non-league match. Viewpoint finished the regular season with a 26-0 record, the first time the school has had an undefeated season.
