And The Winners Are…:

Last Wednesday, June 22, the Santa Monica Kiwanis Club and First Federal Bank of California presented twenty-four Music Scholarship Awards to students from the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District. 

Awards were presented in two categories: instrumental and vocal, and three divisions: middle school, 9-10th grades and 11-12th grades.  Almost 100 students from the district qualified for the final competition and the finals were judged by outside adjudicators. 

First place winners were:

Matt Vincent, 11-12th Grade Instrumental, Santa Monica High School, and Emma Korvin, 11-12th Grade Vocal, Santa Monica High School.

Ryan Lin, 9-10th Grade Instrumental, Santa Monica High School.

Haley Fletcher, 9-10th Grade Vocal, Malibu High School.Richard Dobeck, Middle School Instrumental, John Adams Middle School, Maren Jensen, Middle School Vocal, Malibu Middle School.
