With Earth Day only days away, the Third Street Promenade will be home to the Earth Day Los Angeles Festival. Dozens of booths will be on hand displaying all things green.
Once there, you might want to visit the Sustainable Transport Village between 8am and 5pm. Alternative transportation options will be on hand, including Bio-diesel vehicles, electric motor scooters including the EVT, electric bicycles and skateboards, the RAV4 electric SUV and, for the first time in LA, the German E-Max electric motor scooter. Says Russell Sydney, co-founder of the Sustainable Transport Club, “The Westside has a chance to prepare for a future where oil is no longer the easy energy source for transportation. The Earth Day event will allow people to start being part of the solution by working with their neighbors through the Sustainable Transport Club. The answers are available, but we need to put them into practice for ourselves.”
Assemblymember Fran Pavley will be on hand at the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life of Southern California booths, between 10am and noon, ready to answer your questions and listen to your concerns.
The Earth Day Los Angeles Festival is on April 15, from 10am to 6pm.
