St. Monica , Malibu End Football Seasons:

The football season has ended for two Westside high school teams that couldn’t find much success in 2006.

Malibu lost to Desert Christian, 21-20 on Friday, November 10 to finish with a 2-8 record in Ray Humphries’ second season as head coach.

St. Monica was defeated by La Salle, 34-7, to complete an 0-10 season. Just as Jason Strouse’s 2005 Mariner team struggled, so did the 2006 team coached by Chris Caminiti.

St. Monica will attempt to schedule smaller schools in non-league games starting next season. Its series with Santa Monica, which lasted four years, is over.
