Samohi Romps Again in Ocean League Games:

Santa Monica High’s baseball team hasn’t been tested yet in Ocean League games.

After disposing of Hawthorne easily twice earlier, the Vikings clobbered Inglewood on Tuesday, April 27, and again two days later. The scores were 9-0 and 14-2.

Devon Ramirez pitched the shutout, and Tyler Skaggs was the winning pitcher in the rematch.

Skaggs pitched four innings and Matt Lamagna the fifth, as the Thursday game was halted after five innings under the CIF’s mercy rule. A 10-run lead at that juncture results in the end of the contest.

Rayette Holsome continued his hot hitting by going three-for-three with four RBIs. Bryan Eyler was two-for-three with three RBIs. As some younger players were worked into the lineup Nick Montanari was three-for-three.

Inglewood, the league’s last place team, scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but Samohi came back with five, then four and another four.

Santa Monica, which is 16-6 overall, played at Morningside Thursday, April 26, however, results were not available at press time.
