SMPD Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday:

The Santa Monica Police Department issued the following press release:

On Saturday, December 15, 2007, the Santa Monica Police Department will be conducting a Driver’s License/Sobriety Checkpoint in the 400 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Funding for this program was provided by a grant by the Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Traffic Safety Administration. The goal of the checkpoint is to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roadways and confirm drivers’ license status.

The Santa Monica Police Department reminds drivers to have a designated driver or call a cab if you plan to drink. For more information please contact Sgt. Larry Horn of the Santa Monica Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Division at 310.458-8993.
