A veteran of the ’90s hip-hop scene that spawned the careers of the Black Eyed Peas and Macy Gray, Medusa is a leading voice of the underground. A rapper, singer, and dancer, this multi-talented performer has been compared to everyone from political activist Angela Davis to Public Enemy front man Chuck D. Throughout her extensive career, she has played alongside Stevie Wonder, George Clinton, and Erykah Badu, to name just a few, but still remains a frequent performer at the Temple Bar, where she will appear Saturday night with her band Feline Science.

Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration

Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 N. Grand Avenue, LA, 213.972.7211Now in its 48th year, the Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration is a free event produced by the County Arts Commission. The six-hour concert will feature over 45 ethnically diverse artists from across the county. Representing Santa Monica are Argentinean rock band Los Pinguos, Namaste Women’s Choir, Klezmer Juice, and Stefani Valadez Ensemble. As it is sponsored by the County Board of Supervisors, there will be no cover charge, nor a parking fee for the event, and guests are free to come and go throughout. For those who cannot attend, there will be a live broadcast on KCET.
