The Santa Monica High boys basketball team took a major step toward winning the Ocean League championship on Wednesday, February 3 by defeating second place Inglewood for a second time.
With the 75-52 victory at Inglewood and a 64-46 win over Beverly Hills Friday, Coach James Hecht’s team is 8-0 in league games.
Inglewood is 6-2 and Beverly Hills is 2-6.
Forward Solomon Singer scored 20 points against Inglewood, Samohi’s James Montgomery had 19, Danilo Toscovic 15 and Cory Walker 14.
Samohi has won 13 of its last 14 games, suffocating opponents with its athletics and a full court press.
