Santa Monica Beats Hawthorne: With Win, Samohi Awaits Playoff Berth

With a 50-8 stomp over Hawthorne, Santa Monica High School football team may have stamped its postseason pass, but it may have to will have to wait until Saturday afternoon to find out if they’ll be in the playoffs for sure.

The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section playoff brackets are expected to be announced by Saturday morning, Samohi head coach Travis Clark said.

The Vikings finished the season with the victory over Hawthorne on Friday at Corsair Field , and, with a 6-4 record (3-2 Ocean League), are in fourth place behind Inglewood, Beverly Hills and Culver City, respectively.
