St. Monica and Crossroads boys basketball teams won their first-round games at the St. Monica Tip-Off Invitational Monday night, as the Mariners dominated Wildwood 74-41 and the Roadrunners survived a physical Pacifica Christian team.
Gyasi Williams scored 27 points for Crossroads (1-0) in the victory. St. Monica (1-0) never trailed in its dominant victory over Wildwood, tallying 17 3-pointers in the victorious debut for as first-year head coach Khi-Min Jung.
The Mariners next face Whitney on Tuesday while Crossroads take on Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies.
