Santa Monica Police Request Help Locating Attempted Kidnappers:

On Jan. 24 at 8:20 a.m., a female minor was walking in the 3100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue and was approached by a white adult male who attempted to engage her in conversation. The victim noticed another male in the driver’s seat of an awaiting vehicle. The victim ignored the suspect. The suspect suddenly grabbed the victim and began pulling her into the street to the awaiting vehicle. The victim struggled with the suspect and managed to free herself. The victim then ran to New Roads School and immediately reported the incident to school officials, who then contacted the Santa Monica Police Department. The victim was not injured.

The Santa Monica Police Department has requested the public’s assistance in locating and identifying suspects involved in this attempted kidnapping of a juvenile.

The primary suspect is described as a male, white, in his 20s, 5’ 08” with a slim build. The suspect was wearing a gray sweatshirt, light blue jeans, and tennis shoes. The suspect in the vehicle is described only as a male. The vehicle is described as an unknown make, black, four-door sedan, with tinted windows.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Michael Bambrick at 310.458.8932 or Sergeant Robert Almada at 310.458.8486 or the Santa Monica Police Department (24 hours) at 310.458.8495.
