Although the weather seemed to have an affect on the turnout, a handful of locals brought their children down to Will Rogers State Beach for an expedition into bicycle safety on May 7.
Among those in attendence were State Senator Fran Pavely, Assemblywoman Julia Brownley, and Safe Moves, a non-profit organization that is recognized as the leading authority in traffic safety education in the country.
Children who participated were given a live-action mock course of traffic lanes, street obsticles, and more for an informative and potentially life-saving event. The mini city taught those participating children safe riding skills and promote the use of helmets. Safe Moves sponsored a drawing for a bicycle and a safety helmet.
