The “Three C’s” carried the No. 3 Samohi Vikings tennis team to a 13-5 victory over the Beverly Hills Normans on Monday to stay undefeated.
Connor Treacy, who is undefeated and ranked as the top player in the division, defeated the Normans’ Sam Farzani and Mark Eagle in the round robin 6-0, 6-0.
Conrad McKinnon blanked Mark Eagle and Eric Busi, showing his very strong serve and consistent return volleys in both of his games, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Cristobal Rivera, who is the youngest of the three elite players, also showed his strong court skills, beating Eric Busi and Sam Farzani 6-0, 6-0.
“You just have to focus and not waste any points”, Rivera said.
In doubles, the Vikings also fared well winning two of their matches in tie-breakers 7-6, and their number one doubles team of Alex Battig and Zach Resnick won handily 6-2.
“All three of the C’s, Connor, Conrad and Cristobal are very good players and they have played well for us all season,” said Coach Wilston Poon. “It’s just nice to have such a talented team. Now that everyone is back and playing, It takes the pressure off the entire team. We’re looking forward to the CIF tournament that starts next week.”
The CIF is expected to send out the pairings for the upcoming Finals Tennis Tournament by Mon., May 9.
