Entire Long Beach Freeway (710) To Close Twice This Weekend:

The entire Long Beach Freeway (710) will be closed twice this weekend in both directions for paving replacement.

The first full freeway closure will be tonight, Friday Sept. 16 at 11:59 p.m. to Saturday Sept. 17 at 6 a.m.

The second full freeway closure will start Sunday Sept. 18 at 11 p.m. to Monday Sept. 19 at 5 a.m.

During these times, the following ramps will be closed:

• On-ramps to northbound I-710: from Imperial Highway, Firestone Blvd. and Florence Avenue.

• On-ramps to southbound I-710: from Atlantic Blvd., Florence Ave. & Firestone Boulevard.

• Off-ramps from southbound I-710: at Florence Avenue and Firestone Boulevard.

In addition to these ramp closures, the eastbound and westbound I-105 connector to northbound I-710 will also be closed.

The work is being conducted by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) as part of the Long Life Pavement Rehabilitation Project from Firestone Boulevard to Slauson Avenue.
