Santa Monica Firefighters, Volunteers To Shave Heads This Saturday For Cancer Research:

Santa Monica firefighters will host the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation Head-Shaving event this Saturday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m. on the Santa Monica Promenade.

More than 60 people, including Santa Monica firefighters, will shave their heads for Childhood Cancer Research.

The goal of the event is to raise $20,000, which will go towards life-saving childhood cancer research.

Why all the shaved heads?

St. Baldrick’s is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for childhood cancer research by hosting its signature worldwide head-shaving events where volunteers collect pledges to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer, raising money for life-saving research.

The Fire Chief and Fire Captain will also be in attendance and kids will be able to tour fire trucks.

For more information, visit the event page on the St. Baldrick’s website.
