The Hamilton Galleries opening reception in Santa Monica for “Looking In” was a very successful, beautiful, fun and star-studded evening on Saturday, Sept. 24.
“Looking In” is a group exhibition of new paintings by five classical realist painters, Brooke Adams, Rainer Andreesen, Dorothy Braudy, Miriam Feldman, and Madeleine McKay.
The artists have all had previous exhibitions with the Hamilton Galleries.
The commonality of “Looking In” lies in capturing intimate, private moments, rendered by the artists’ masterful technique.
Among the celebrities were Lisa Kudrow, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Eugene Levy, Conan O’ Brien, Anthony LaPaglia, John Slattery and Tony Shalhoub, among others.
The Hamilton Galleries has successfully represented a group of California artists for 15 years. The first location was in the Pacific Palisades in 1994 then the second location opened on Robertson Blvd. in West LA in 1996.
In Aug. 2001, the gallery to moved to the heart of Santa Monica with a sweeping view of Santa Monica Bay and the Pier.
The Santa Monica space is ideally suited for exhibiting the eclectic group of Southern California artists that they exclusively represent.
What unites the gallery artists is their exuberant dedication to color, light, movement and form.
There is also a common sense of art history and classical themes.
The figure, nature, imagination and the sub conscience mind flow freely.
Hamilton Galleries is located at 1431 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica.
