Peter Shelton: Eyehand, L.A. Louver presents a survey exhibition of sculpture by Peter Shelton from Nov. 19 to Dec. 30. Wall Works: The Walls Have Eyes, at the Santa Monica Museum of Art is its most extensive educational public art program, connecting acclaimed contemporary artists with the imaginations of local students. Kelly Barrie: Mirror House, a new, large-format photographic work created especially for Project Room One at the Santa Monica Museum of Art through Dec. 10. The exhibit includes drawing, dance, performance, and digital collage. Barrie’s work investigates the relationship between historical memory and aesthetic practice—in this case, using Hurricane Katrina as the backdrop. Tantra Song: Contemporary Tantric Paintings from Rajasthan, is a collection of 39 anonymous works from India, made from 1985 to 2009, on display through Dec. 10. Less is Matter, the Shoshana Wayne Gallery presents James Richards’ fifth solo show with the gallery through Dec. 23.
