Fairfax Hangs On to Beat Samohi: Vikings Bumped to Fifth Place Bracket

Fairfax's Landon Drew goes one-on-one with Samohi's Trevis Jackson in the Lions' 45-41 win on Wednesday.

After falling behind 26-12 at halftime, the Samohi Vikings adjusted to Fairfax’s post presence and started a comeback in the second half.

Unfortunately, the Vikings efforts came up just short. With seconds closing down, Jordan Mathews had an open look from to tie the game at 44, but the shot hit hard iron and the Lions got the rebound.

The loss moves Samohi to the fifth place bracket of “The Tournament.” They will face the loser of Loyola and El Camino on Friday at 5 p.m. Loyola and El Camino will play on Thursday night.
