On Thursday, Dec. 1 officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Company in response to a report of a woman refusing to pay her bill (sounds fishy?). When they arrived, the officers spoke with the woman who had apparently eaten a meal, but refused to pay the bill.
The officers asked the woman who she was and she told them that she was Kiera Angeline Stonehart. She also gave them a date of birth. The officers soon discovered she was not Kiera Angeline Stonehart, and the date of birth was not hers either. The manager of Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Company was not eager of a prosecution for the unpaid food bill, but the officers decided to arrest her for giving false information to a police officer.
The woman eventually gave the officers her correct name and date of birth (it was not anything like Kiera Angeline Stonehart, incidentally) but it was too late, so this 32-year-old homeless woman was taken to jail and charged with providing false information. Her bail was set at $5,000. No word on who Kiera Angeline Stonehart actually is, or was.

Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
