About half a million dollars worth of marijuana was found floating off the Marina del Rey harbor entrance, authorities said this morning.
Marina del Rey Marine Patrol Deputies working in conjunction with LACO Fire Baywatch recovered 35 bales of marijuana floating about six nautical miles north/west of the harbor entrance.
The marijuana was taken to Marina del Rey Station and transferred to the custody U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The investigation of this maritime smuggling event is being handled by L.A. B.E.S.T., USCG and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
